Friends of Rhonda Hosts Successful Queerxhibit With TRUCE, Hellions, Puffin Post

LITTLE BLACK BOOK
23 September 2025
In a partnership between Friends of Rhonda and Truce Production Co, 150 queer people and allies gathered last week for the industry’s first dedicated event celebrating the art of queer creatives; The Queerxhibit.
Over 25 artists who work in advertising, media and film showed how unique, creative and exciting queer creatives are. Hosted by ‘Mum the Drag Queen’ aka Jules Stretch, Friends of Rhonda founder, she acknowledged why an exhibition like this is so relevant.

“I hear all the time that the leaders of our industry are searching for talent that engage in culture and create amazing things when they’re away from their desks," she said.
"Queer people do that in droves, so it’s my immense pleasure to introduce you to these amazing artists that prove just that.”
Attendees included tastemakers and leaders of the industry, who were invited to take the art in, learn more about these queer perspectives, and consider these creatives in their next projects. The battle cry for the evening becoming, in simple, unashamed terms: Hire more queers.
The support of Alana Taylor, plus Elise Trenorden and the TRUCE team, ensured a smooth event and professional showcase, allowing for the work on display to truly shine.
Friends of Rhonda committee members Fenn Aldred, Alayna Kunitake, and Liam Jenkins were also instrumental in creating the event.

This is the first time Friends of Rhonda has opened up an event to allies. As Alayna explained, ”I’m a big believer in the importance of having spaces for the queer community — which is what Friends of Rhonda primarily exists as — but also opportunities for the industry to come together and for worlds to collide from time to time. If guests left Queerxhibit with even just one wonderful morsel of a new perspective to take with them into their workplaces, that feels exciting.”
Fenn added, “It was incredible to be able to open up Friends of Rhonda to the wider industry allies. Connecting with so many people really put into perspective that we do have people supporting us despite the onslaught in the media and socials. It was truly very heart-warming to be a part of!”.
Liam said, “It’s amazing to see that Friends of Rhonda has not only built such a warm community, but one that is so creatively talented. We can’t wait to see where Rhonda goes next.”

All the artists who took part in Queerxhibit are listed on the Friends of Rhonda website, so when agencies are next in the market for a creative, they know where to look.
A special thank you to sponsors creative agency Hellions, and Puffin Post, to photographer Laura Du Ve, Andy on the bar, and DJ Y2Gay for the tunes, as well as to Brother John for putting on food, and Remedy Drinks and Bodriggy for the drinks.
