Nicholas Clifford
A co-founder of Truce, Nicholas Clifford is an award-winning writer and director. Working across narrative and commercial, Nick has a passion for telling stories with heart.
In 2018, his screenplay for THE HANDYMAN won the 2018 Australian Writers Guild's Best Short Form Monty Miller Award. The film went on to premiere at Cairo International Film Festival (CAIFF) in 2020 and screen at more than 50 festivals internationally, receiving more than 10 awards.
After graduating from the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS), Nick turned his ambitions to the creation of a thriving commercial and narrative production company.
In 2013, Nick’s short WE'VE ALL BEEN THERE, which won Best Film at leading Australian film festival Tropfest, in front of a 100,000-strong live audience. The previous year, KITCHEN SINK DRAMA was a finalist at the festival, and screened at Palm Springs International Film Festival, HollyShorts, and New York City International Film Festival.
As a commercial director, Nick works with leading global brands, including Procter & Gamble, Ryobi, and Isuzu. His long-running, memorable campaigns for Metamucil received wide industry recognition – landing four bronze London International Awards (LIA), a finalist spot at Cannes Lions Health, silver and bronze Global Awards, Best Advertisement at the Prime Awards, and a bronze Effie Award.
Nick is currently developing a slate of feature projects, including family film MOONSHOT, the optioned FINE COTTON, and time-travel comedy ONE MORE SHOT.
